The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has introduced a new official telephone number, 0719 093 000, and said its existing lines will stop operating at the end of January 2027. Teachers, parents, candidates and school administrators have until then to update their contact records.
In a public notice, KNEC said the new number takes effect immediately and urged the public and education stakeholders to use it for all future communication with the council.

"KNEC wishes to inform members of the public and all stakeholders that it has a new official telephone contact number effective immediately," the council said.

The existing lines will remain operational during the transition, giving users time to save the new number and update institutional directories. The outgoing numbers are 0800 721 410, 0800 724 900, 0798 060 000 and 0798 060 010. KNEC said it will cease operating after January 31, 2027. The council apologised for any inconvenience and thanked stakeholders for their continued engagement.
The announcement comes during a busy national examination period, when candidates, teachers, parents and school administrators may need clarification on procedures, registration, assessment and results.

School heads are encouraged to update their contact lists for communication with the council, and parents and candidates should save the new number to avoid relying on outdated contacts.

The notice is also a reminder to use verified channels when seeking examination-related information. Candidates and parents should be wary of anyone who claims they can change examination grades, supply leaked papers or alter certificates for money, as such offers may be fraudulent and should be checked directly with the council. KNEC advises the public to consult its official website for authenticated contact details and to use its verified social media accounts.
