Muslim leaders in Kakamega County  have appealed to the  county government to construct an Early Childhood Development (ECD) block at Kakamega Muslim primary school.

The construction of the ECD block will be in memory of the late nominated MCA and ODM women leader Jamilla Anjere who passed on after a short illness.

Led by Women Representative aspirant Hadija Nganyi, Sheikh Ibrahim Sadala of Kakamega Jamia mosque and the County chairperson of Imams and Preachers of Kenya Idris Mohamed, the leaders noted that the devolved system of government had constructed ECD centers in almost all primary schools except Muslim Primary.

They expressed concern over the recent low enrollment of neighbouring Muslim Secondary school which is a community school that supports needy students.

Apart from construction of the ECD centre they appealed for the construction of a school gate through the support of Women Representative Elsie Muhanda who came to condole with the family together with governor Wycliffe Oparanya.

Leaders who came to pay last respect  said the deceased was on the forefront towards construction of Muslim Secondary school which is adjacent to the primary.

They appreciated area MP Bishop Titus Khamala for funding a storey building within the school who vowed to complete the school projects if re-elected.
