Kenyans have praised Mumias East MP Peter Salasya after Shianda KMTC admitted its first students. The good-looking KMTC, which he has been sharing its progress on his Facebook page, has been completed, attracting hundreds of students.
Kenyans took to the comment section, with others sharing the post while comparing it to other legislators, “He is the only hardworking member of parliament so far, and who has a vision for the people of Mumias.”

MP Salasya, while sharing photos of the students and the new campus facilities, congratulated the incoming class and outlined the investments made so far. “I have worked on your labs, drainage system, modern structure, generator, water, bus and am working on street light to be installed within two weeks for your safety,” he said.
He added that he plans to equip the laboratories fully. And introduce a pharmacy department. He also promised to secure an additional bus in the current financial year to accommodate the growing student population.
The Shianda KMTC campus has already admitted students to clinical medicine, nursing, and orthopaedic courses, with facilities that include lecture halls and modern teaching blocks. Salasya pledged to visit the institution next week to address any challenges that may arise.
