MP to use CDF to replace schools’ temporary structures

By Aggrey Buchunju

Kimilili Member of Parliament Didymus Barasa has vowed to eradicate semi-permanent buildings in schools in the constituency.
The MP said he will utilise funds from the National Government- Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) kitty to replace temporary structures in public schools with permanent buildings.
Barasa urged those charged with procurement to ensure that contractors, building materials and unskilled labour are sourced from within the constituency.
“One of the purposes of devolved funds is to empower the local community. I will not therefore allow cash meant for Kimilili constituents to be spent in other constituencies,” he said.
