St. Martin’s Kitinda secondary school principal Charles Ogutu Okeyo has appealed to Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to post more teachers to his school in a bid to prepare students adequately for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.

Ogutu said his school has few teachers causing teachers to overwork.

He added that from the 165 form one students selected to join, only 62 had reported. He cited the low turnout to the fact that many of the students allocated to the school by the Ministry of Education were not from the locality and yet the school is a day school.

He lauded Kanduyi constituency National Government –Constituency Development Fund for helping the school put up storey classrooms.

He appealed to the Ministry of Education and well-wishers to help the school purchase more land, adding that it shares a playing ground with the primary section. The school is also in need of a science laboratory, library, staffroom and an administration block.

Ogutu asked parents to cooperate with the school management to ensure that the school posts good results in national examinations.

He also expressed concern about teen pregnancy, school dropout and drug abuse among teens.
