MP pledges to build more day schools

By Agnes Mutio

Matungulu MP Stephen Mule has promised to construct more day secondary schools in the constituency to promote education.

Speaking in Tala, Mr Mule said that the move will be a huge relief to students from Joska, Malaa and Koma who walk long distances daily to access their schools.

“Since 2013 we have constructed over 15 day schools in the sub county. We are planning on building more to accommodate students walking for long distances to go to school. These include AIC Koma Hill secondary school, Koma Ranch Sa high school in Mutalia and Ngalalya secondary school whose money has already been set aside,” said Mule.

He further noted that the 100 percent transition policy translates to more students thus the need for construction of more schools with good infrastructure to accommodate them.

Mr Mule then called on parents to not despise day schools as their performance is at par with the boarding ones.

While concluding, the lawmaker congratulated the schools in the sub county for their exemplary performance in the past national examinations.
