More than 100 students from Borabu Teachers’ Training College in Nyamira County have been admitted to Nyasiongo Sub-County Hospital after complaining of severe headaches this evening.

The hospital’s medical staff declined to speak to the press, promising to comment later after attending to the sick students.

“Tell those curious men at the gate to go and come later. At this time, we don’t have anything to tell them until we complete medical checks,” said a tall man as he instructed the hospital gatekeeper.

A glimpse into the hospital compound revealed students writhing in pain and wriggling on the ground as they scratched their heads, a clear sign of extreme discomfort.

Unfortunately, efforts to reach the college principal for comment were unsuccessful, as he was not taking calls at the time.

Nyamira County Commissioner Erastus Mbui appealed for a swift response from medical personnel to establish the cause of the ailments and contain the situation as quickly as possible.
