The Ministry of Health (MoH), in conjunction with Kishaunet Health Centre, has begun a HPV vaccination campaign on targeted girls to protect them from cervical cancer and Covid- 19.

The exercise, which started in the beginning of the year, was meant to cover the whole of Kishaunet Zone schools.

The nurse-in-charge of the Kishaunet Health Centre Olive Awuor said that the safety of the girls was in the HPV vaccine.

In Kishaunet Zone, the following are schools where the HPV vaccination is ongoing: Kachepkai, Kodongou, Nangrotum, Nasokol, Nateleng, Simitei, Totum, Kapyemut and the latest Tampalal Primary School.

“Let us take care of our young girls by administering the HPV vaccine, which will prevent cervical cancer,” Oliver said, advising teachers and parents to ensure all girls got the jab.

The head teacher of Tampala Lilian Simatwo greatly thanked the Ministry of Health for carrying out such an important exercise.
