Embu Gubernatorial aspirant Cecily Mbarire has promised to better education in the county if elected.
While addressing locals in different areas during her campaigns, Mbarire said that bursary allocations will be increased and distributed fairly so that more and deserving needy students gain.
“Education is in my heart. As a governor, I will ensure an increase in allocation of the education funds in the county budget. There will be thorough scrutiny of those who will be issued with bursaries so that only the deserving students benefit,” said the legislator.
She noted that during her tenure as nominated MP for Runyenjes constituency, she competently managed the bursary kitty. The constituency was ranked among the top in terms of bursary issuance.
She promised to replicate the same at county level.
Mbarire is seeking to succeed governor Martin Wambora whose two-term tenure is lapsing.
