Maseno School has unveiled its ambitious goal for the 2025 academic year, setting a target of achieving a mean score of 8.0 and above in the upcoming Mock Test Run. This move signals the school’s commitment to academic excellence and a competitive edge in the national examinations.
Chief Principal Peter Otieno, speaking at the launch, underscored the institution’s dedication to nurturing top-tier talent and fostering a culture of academic rigor.
“This initiative is not just about setting a numerical target; it’s about instilling discipline, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of excellence,” Otieno stated.

The Mock Test Run, which will simulate the real Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams, is a critical step in Maseno School’s broader strategy to bolster performance ahead of the final exams. Students will undergo comprehensive assessments across various subjects, with a strong focus on pinpointing academic weaknesses and honing key areas of improvement.
Otieno further emphasized that the test is more than a practice run; it is an opportunity for both students and faculty to recalibrate their academic approaches, ensuring that Maseno maintains its reputation for producing top-performing candidates.
“This target is a challenge we are confident we can meet. Our students have consistently demonstrated exceptional potential, and with the right preparation, we believe an 8.0+ average is within reach,” Otieno added.
