Machogu says education of youth is top government priority

Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu has said the ministry (MoE)’s investment in youth is top priority of the government to help them realize their full potential.

Speaking in Mathira West during their Education Day, the CS noted that this is the appropriate time to usher in a new education system that inculcates innovation and explores talent.

He stressed that the government is intentionally investing in quality education, routinely sharpening and making it better to enable children reach their fullest potential.

He praised the area sub-county director for exhibiting exemplary leadership skills to post good results in national examinations, donating his office a new car to ease travel as they attend routine education activities.

The Education Day, whose theme was ‘Re-awakening Academic Excellence in Mathira West’, brought together various education stakeholders from the sub-county led by area MP Eric Mwambi Kahugu.

Kahugu took time to reward excellence in academics and issued bursary cheques to deserving cases, encouraging learners to work hard and to remain focused and disciplined if they desires a bright future.

He thanked the CS for gracing the occasion, terming it an indicator of his love for education.

“The presence of the CS here assures us that President Ruto is committed to the provision and enhancement of inclusive learning for sustainable quality education,” he said.
