Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu has donated Ksh1.5 million towards construction of a girls dormitory at Mobamba High School in Nyaribari Masaba constituency.
Addressing parents, teachers and students during a fundraiser at the school, where Ksh3 million was raised, Machogu said that the government of Kuwait had promised to send another Ksh1.5 million to assist the school complete construction of its infrastructure.
Machogu, who is the constituency’s former Member of Parliament (MP) was flanked by his successor Dr. Daniel Manduku whom he advised to perfect the record he left behind in the promotion of education.
“In reference to teachers being software and school infrastructure as hardware,when I was MP, I positioned my software and hardware well and we achieved greater results in the education sector. I urge to continue with that approach,” he said.
He also thanked the school principal Dr. George Ogochi and the school Board of Management (BoM) for ensuring the school posted desirable KCSE examination results.
Machogu urged the press to be objective and quit spreading the propaganda that he favours schools in his region.
Daniel Manduku promised to assist all schools in the area by providing money from his NG-CDF office to improve the infrastructure.
Mobamba Secondary School presented 348 candidates in the 2022 KCSE examinations, all of whom qualified to join university with the last student scoring a C+ (plus).
