New Machakos Teachers Training College Senior Principal Madam Keziah Munioh during the official handover ceremony held this week after assuming leadership of the institution.

Machakos Teachers Training College (TTC) has officially welcomed a new senior principal following the appointment of Keziah Munioh to lead the institution.

Keziah formally assumed office this week, during a colourful handover ceremony attended by staff members, students and education stakeholders.

The event marked a significant leadership transition for the institution as instruments of authority were officially handed over to the new principal.

Her appointment has been received with optimism within the college community, with many describing her as an experienced education administrator with a strong understanding of the institution’s culture and academic vision.

She previously served at Machakos Teachers College as Dean of Students, where she earned recognition for her commitment to student welfare, discipline and academic excellence.

Staff members expressed confidence that her return to the institution in a higher leadership role will strengthen management, improve service delivery and enhance teacher training standards.

Speaking during the ceremony, members of staff welcomed her back and pledged their support as she begins steering the institution into a new chapter.

“We are delighted to welcome Madam Keziah Munioh back home. Her visionary, compassionate and results-oriented leadership gives us confidence that the college will continue achieving greater milestones in teacher education,” part of the statement from the institution read.

The college also paid tribute to David Musau Katule, who served as acting principal before the appointment of Keziah.

He was commended for his dedication and steady leadership during the transition period.

Katule now resumes his substantive position as Deputy Principal in charge of Administration.

The leadership change comes at a time when teacher training colleges across the country continue implementing reforms aimed at improving the quality of teacher education and aligning training with the Competency-Based Education (CBE).

Machakos Teachers Training College remains one of the key teacher training institutions in the region, producing educators who serve in schools across the country.
