Machakos MP commissions modern dining hall, unveils more school projects

Machakos Town MP Caleb Mule on Friday commissioned a modern dining hall at Mung’ala Senior School, fulfilling a request by students to replace a dilapidated facility.

The new dining hall includes a fully equipped kitchen, boilers, dining tables and chairs, providing learners with an improved environment for meals.

Speaking during the commissioning, Mule said the project responds directly to students’ request for better facilities.

“Students had requested a modern dining hall. Today we have commissioned one that will improve their welfare and learning environment,” he said.

To mark the opening, the MP presented Sh120,000 to the school’s headteacher to treat students to a meal of their choice once the facility becomes operational.

More projects for schools

The legislator also announced funding for development projects at two primary schools in the constituency.

He said Sh1.4 million had been allocated for the construction of a gabion at Mung’ala Primary School to control soil erosion.

Another Sh1.4 million has been set aside for the renovation of classrooms at Ivumbuni Primary School. 

Mule, who was accompanied by Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka, Yatta MP Robert Basil, Masinga MP Joshua Mwalyo and Kangundo MP Fabian Kyule, also announced that his office had initiated electricity connections to 400 households in Kyondu and Miwongoni villages.

He said the projects are intended to improve both learning conditions in schools and the livelihoods of residents across Machakos Town Constituency.
