Reigning basketball champions Laiser Hill Academy are set to defend their crown at the 2026 Brookside Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) national term one games, which will take place in Kisumu from April 4th to 11th.
Under the leadership of head coach Anthony Kirimi, the team is preparing intensively to face Kenya’s top secondary school basketball sides in what promises to be a week of thrilling competition.
In the boys’ tournament, Laiser Hill will contend with strong opponents, including Dr. Aggrey (Coast), Dagoretti High (Nairobi), Lukenya School (Eastern), FS Kamusinga (Western), Agoro Sare (Nyanza), Mang’u High (Central) and representatives from North Eastern.
The girls’ tournament is equally competitive, featuring top teams such as Moi Girls High (Nairobi), Butere Girls (Western), St. Brigid’s (Rift Valley), Ikutha Girls (Eastern), Asumbi Girls (Nyanza), Kaya Tiwi (Coast), and Loreto Girls (Central).

The week-long event promises to showcase future stars and highlight the importance of teamwork, discipline, and skill development.
Speaking ahead of the games, coach Anthony Kirimi expressed confidence in his team.
“We have worked hard this season, focusing on fitness, strategy and mental toughness. Our goal is to defend the title, but we respect every opponent. Kisumu will see a team that plays with heart and determination,” he said.
Kisumu is ready to host Kenya’s finest young talents as they compete for the national crown.
With Laiser Hill under Coach Kirimi’s guidance, all eyes will be on the reigning champions as they aim for back-to-back KSSSA triumphs.
