Laikipia University announces academic open week to resolve students’ academic issues

  • The academic open week will run from July 20–24, 2026, to give students a structured platform to resolve pending academic issues, review progress, and prepare for the next phase of their studies.
  • Parents and guardians have been invited to accompany students, engage with officials, and help strengthen accountability as the university enhances service delivery and student success

Laikipia University has invited all students to take part in an Academic Open Week running from Monday, July 20, to Friday, July 24, 2026, in an initiative designed to help learners resolve outstanding academic issues ahead of the next phase of their studies.

The initiative was announced in a circular dated July 14, 2026, issued by the Office of the Registrar (Academic Affairs) under Prof. Robert Mwebi. According to the notice, the exercise will give students the opportunity to review their academic progress, resolve missing marks and transcript discrepancies, and seek guidance from their respective schools and departments.

The university has organised the exercise along school and departmental lines, with each unit assigned a specific venue to serve its students.

Students from the School of Education will be attended to at Vision 2030 Hall, while those in the School of Science and Applied Technology will meet staff at Elimu Hall.

The School of Humanities and Development Studies will operate from Mandela Hall, the School of Business and Economics from the University Boardroom, and the TVET Directorate from the Geography Lab.

University officials have encouraged all students to make full use of the week-long exercise to address any academic concerns and obtain the necessary support from academic staff.

The university has also invited parents and guardians to accompany their students during the exercise and engage directly with university officials on matters relating to academic progress and performance.

The Academic Open Week is expected to give students a platform to clear pending academic issues, correct academic records and receive guidance on their academic journey, as the institution moves to enhance service delivery and student success.
