KUPPET Vihiga aspirants demand key documents ahead of January 2026 elections

Preparations for the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) elections, set for 10 January 2026, are gaining pace following the union’s recent announcement of the poll date.

Aspirants for various positions in the KUPPET Vihiga Branch have formally written to the Executive Secretary requesting crucial documents needed for the electoral process.

The group is demanding a certified copy of the voters register, a certified copy of the KUPPET Constitution, the Kenya Constitution, and the official election schedule.

Those who have submitted the request include Oliver Odanga, Wilson Okutoyi, Christine Oranga, Wilson Ayodi , Robert Owino, and Teresa Murage.

The candidates say the documents are vital for ensuring transparency, proper preparation, and full compliance with the union’s electoral guidelines, they should be in their custody 60 days before the branch elections.

They further emphasised that access to the materials is necessary to guarantee a free and fair election.

KUPPET Vihiga Branch officials are expected to issue a response in the coming days as the highly anticipated elections draw nearer.
