The Homa bay branch of Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) is set to partner with Tom Mboya University College (TMUC) to enable teachers in the county further their education.
According to the union branch Executive Secretary Steven Yogo, the move is in line with the union’s objective of encouraging secondary school teachers under the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to attain higher education levels.
During the meeting between KUPPET and top administrators of TMUC, both agreed on a plan that will allow TSC teachers with Diploma certificates to enrol for degree studies starting at second year levels.
Mr. Yogo explained that the university will also generate a website that will enable the teachers within the county access online classes.
He also urged teachers to take extra precautions against the virus.
