We also call for confirmation of 46,000 JSS teachers and reinstatement of those who were dismissed and promotion of all teachers in acting capacity,” he said, calling for independent infrastructure for JSS establishments to take care of administration and co-curicular activities.

On allowance, he called for responsibility allowance for HoDs as well as risk allowance for Science teachers, adding that there is urgent need for correction and adjustment of basic salaries for  C5 teachers as well as harmonization of house allowances.

“These issues should be addressed, failure to which teachers might down their tools come September,” he warned.

He called upon parents to make sure their children do not join demonstrations but concentrate on their revision and home duties.

“Remember these same children lost a lot when we had floods so they should revise thoroughly and equally relax their minds at homes as they help parents in daily activities.
