- Regional champions have secured their places after intense qualifiers, with both traditional giants and newcomers chasing national titles.
- Winners across various disciplines will represent Kenya at the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) Games.
The stage is set for one of Kenya’s biggest secondary school sporting spectacles as the country’s top teams arrive at the M-PESA Foundation Academy in Thika, Kiambu County, for the 2026 KCB-sponsored Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) National Term Two Games.
The five-day championship will bring together regional champions in football, volleyball, netball, rugby sevens, basketball 3×3 and various racquet games, all competing for national titles and qualification to the East African championships.
This year’s tournament is unique in that all major disciplines will be hosted within the state-of-the-art M-PESA Foundation Academy, offering athletes world-class competition facilities while allowing fans to enjoy multiple sports at a single venue.
The tournament follows weeks of fiercely contested regional championships held across Kenya’s eight KSSSA regions, where schools battled for the limited national qualification slots.
Football fans will once again witness some of the country’s most successful school teams.
Western Region champions Kakamega High School sealed their national ticket after defeating rivals Musingu High School 2-0 after extra time in a dramatic regional final at Masinde Muliro Stadium in Bungoma.
Battle extends beyond ball games
Besides football, volleyball and netball, athletes will also compete in rugby sevens, basketball 3×3, badminton, table tennis, chess, scrabble and other racquet games.
The championship continues to provide one of Kenya’s biggest platforms for identifying young sporting talent, with many former KSSSA stars having progressed to national teams and professional clubs.
Officials expect intense competition throughout the week as schools seek not only national honours but also qualification to represent Kenya at the forthcoming FEASSSA Games against top schools from Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and other East African countries.
