Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Kisii branch has expressed their satisfaction with the just-ended Schools Second term sports.
Speaking in Kisii town Saphinah Kenyando a key member in the Chess sport section, attributed the success to teamwork from teachers, the Ministry of Education and security organs in the country.
“The success is a clear testimony of what we can achieve together under the umbrella of peace and unity.” She said.
According to the KSSSA Secretariat, the hotly contested games from across the regions in the country saw rift valley emerge as the overall winners.
Rift Valley Region topped with 97 points in the ranking followed by Nairobi Region which garnered 93 points.
They were trailed by western, Nyanza and Eastern Regions with 84, 71 and 58 points in that order.
Coast province took position 6 with 53 points as Central Region picked number 7 with 50 points but was trailed from far by Eastern Region who achieved 14 points after the four days’ games duel.
The winning teams from each region will represent Kenya at Huye in Rwanda during their FEASSSA Championship.
