Teachers in Migori County marked the World Teachers’ Day on October 5th 2021 with happiness and enthusiasm.

Speaking to Education News,  the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Rongo branch executive secretary Eunice Bosco  appreciated the efforts teachers put in schools  to change the lives of children.

”I  would  like to tell all teachers, trainers, instructors and all in the art of imparting worthwhile knowledge, appropriate skills and desirable attitudes that they play a very significant role in the lives of men,” she said.

She went on to praise the resilience of teachers during tough times like the Covid-19 pandemic.

She added that teachers do a lot of work in moulding children and that have they have helped learners to choose the right career paths by making them step out of their comfort zones.

‘Teachers are friends, counselors and also disciplinarians,’ she added.

Bosco, who is also a National Executive Council (NEC) member, said that teachers and teachers’ organizations must be honored for their vital contributions to the education system.

”I really admire the passion you have as well as the efforts you put in teaching. I wish you great health and prosperity in life.”  Bosco added.

Bosco quipped that those who educate children well are honoured more than those who merely produce them.
