KNUT Nairobi branch to hold AGM next month

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Nairobi branch will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) next month.

In a memo signed by branch Executive Secretary Macharia Mugwe dated September 11, 2023 and seen by Education News, the AGM will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at City Primary School from 9:00 a.m.

The AGM meeting is themed; ‘Invest today for a better tomorrow’.

Macharia noted that the event will be graced by KNUT Secretary General Collins Oyuu and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja as the Chief Guest.

A few months ago, Sakaja launched the Dishi na County School Feeding Programme which will see children in primary schools in Nairobi get meals at a subsidized cost of Ksh5

The programme uses 10 central kitchens located in; Dagoretti North, Embakasi Central, Embakasi South, Kasarani, Kibra, Makadara, Starehe, Roysambu, Ruaraka, and Westlands sub counties.

Payments for the meals is through the Tap2Eat digital platform where parents pay by dialling USSD code *648#.
