The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced that the ongoing application window for teachers interested in training as examiners for the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) is still open.
Heads of Institutions (HoIs) across the country are now being urged to mobilize eligible teachers within their jurisdictions to apply before the portal closes. The online application process remains live at examinersapp.knec.ac.ke. Where candidates can access the portal through their CP2 accounts.
To qualify, applicants must be practicing teachers registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or Public Service Commission (PSC), with a minimum of three years of teaching experience and aged below 50 years.
The training program accommodates both online and residential formats, and a non-refundable fee of Ksh 10,500 will be payable by shortlisted candidates.

KNEC has specifically emphasized the need for applications from teachers handling Pre-technical Studies, Agriculture, and Creative Arts and Sports, fields critical to the competency-based curriculum’s vision.
Training as an examiner offers educators a chance to deepen their assessment literacy, gain national recognition, and contribute to the integrity of Kenya’s education system.
The urgency of this call stems from the Council’s first-come, first-served approach to selection. Head teachers are therefore requested to sensitize and encourage eligible staff to complete their applications promptly and ensure their profiles are up to date on the portal.
This initiative reflects KNEC’s commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining transparency and equity in education.
