Kisumu to host Nyanza’s schools music festival from July 8

The Nyanza Region Music Festival for both primary and secondary schools will take place early next month in Kisumu County.

The festival, scheduled to take place from July 8-14, 2024, will bring together participating schools from Siaya, Homa Bay, Kisumu, Migori, Kisii, and Nyamira counties.

The venues will be Kisumu Girls, Arya School and MM Shah School, with each of the hosting schools set to hold different categories of events, promising to entertain the audiences as each participating school is anticipated to bring its A game into the competition.

The competition will involve choral French, German, Arabic verses, dances and songs, among others.

Winners from this festival will join their counterparts from different regions at the national level.

The Kenya Music Festival at national level, meant to showcase students’ talent in music, dance and elocution, will be held at Moi Girls High School in Eldoret from August 2 – 14, 2024.

The annual festival, organized by the Ministry of Education (MoE), will feature students from different age groups who will demonstrate their artistic skills and innovation under the theme ‘Talent Development For Growth of the Creative Economy’.
