Police in Kisii have launched investigations into the death of a Form Three student at Iranda village in Nyatieko location, following an alleged assault that resulted in the student’s death on Sunday.
According to preliminary reports, the student was allegedly killed by her father under circumstances that are yet to be fully established.
The girl’s body was initially taken to Iranda Dispensary, where police processed the scene, before being transferred to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation as investigations continue.

The suspected was confronted by members of the public following the incident. Police officers intervened and rescued him from an angry mob, preventing residents from taking the law into their own hands. The suspect remains in police custody pending further investigations and possible court action.
Kisii County Police Commander Ronald Kirui confirmed the incident and asked security officers to leave no stone unturned in investigating the alleged killing. He also urged members of the public to remain calm and allow investigators to handle the matter, cautioning against mob justice.
The incident has left residents of Iranda and the wider Nyatieko area shocked as they await further details from investigators.
