The Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) has petitioned the National Assembly to compel the national government to release the approved capitation of Ksh22,244 per student for this year.
The Association with over 10,000 members wants the Parliament to push the National Treasury to release the deficit from 2019 which amounts to Ksh54.2 billion.
“The release of this deficit will help schools settle their pending bills,” the petition read.
The petition has been forwarded to the Public Petitions Committee for consideration by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula.
