Kenyatta Varsity student champions conservation of environment

Born in Chemaltin village,  Lelan Ward Pokot South Sub-county, Ambrose Pkorir has proved himself as a great environmentalist in West Pokot  County.

Pkorir started his early education at Chemaltin primary school from 2003 to 2012. From 2013 to 2016 he studied at St Anthony of Padua Sina Secondary School.

The skill of planting tree seedlings which he started to cultivate at primary school, was properly nurtured at the secondary school.

 

Between 2017 and 2022, Ambrose continued to participate in environmental conservation through tree seedlings planting seminars organised at Kenyatta University.

At the university, he was a full member of Green Walk whereby tree planting and its conservation was frequently discussed .This was the initiative of Green Generation.

Ambrose, has for many times, represented Rift Valley region on matters of environmental conservation. In his sub-county, he is a full member of climate change and also a volunteer member of the West Pokot County Government Environmental Conservation.

Currently, he is in charge of various tree nursery seedlings including the one at Kapenguria Catholic Church, Kabichbich Parish, Simotwo and Chepkono popularly known as Chesito. Ambrose urges everyone to engage in tree planting and environmental conservation.
