The Kenya Education Management Institute (KEMI) has announced the passing away of Wycliffe Wawire Wasike, Director of the Education Management Directorate, who passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, following a prolonged illness.

Colleagues described Wasike as calm, jovial, and hardworking, an administrator deeply committed to advancing KEMI’s mandate and strengthening leadership across the education sector.

Beyond his public service, Wasike served as a senior pastor at Kiamumbi Deliverance Church, a role that reflected his deep devotion to the community and his faith. Friends and associates expressed profound sadness at the loss of a dedicated leader and mentor, noting his steady presence and the impact of his work on institutional growth and professional development.

KEMI said the funeral procession will depart from the Kenyatta National Hospital Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Burial will follow on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at his rural home in Misemwa Village, Muliro Sub-location, Ndalu Location, Bungoma County.

The institute and the wider education fraternity mourn Wasike’s passing, remembering him as a valued leader and friend whose service and character left a lasting imprint on colleagues, learners, and the communities he served.
