Thousands of young people in Nyamira County have until June 24, 2026, to apply for fully sponsored vocational training scholarships offered through a partnership between the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Foundation and the County Government of Nyamira.
The scholarships, offered under the KCB Foundation’s 2Jiajiri programme, cover a wide range of practical courses including hairdressing and beauty therapy, plumbing, motor vehicle mechanics, tailoring, electrical installation, masonry, welding, food and beverage, and dressmaking.
Interview schedule announced
Interviews are scheduled to take place at 18 vocational training centres across the county between July 1 and July 3, 2026.
Venues for the July 1 interviews include Misambi, Nyaigesa, Kenyerere and Matongo Vocational Training Centres.
The July 2 interviews will be conducted at Bigege, Geta, Saigangia, Mwongori, Ritongo, St. Albert Bundo and Nyaikuro Vocational Training Centres.
The final round of interviews on July 3 will be held at St. Stephen’s Ekerabo Gietai, Moraka, Geteni, Kiobwoge and Kiang’ende Vocational Training Centres.
Interested applicants are required to submit their applications online through the official KCB Foundation application portal before the June 24 deadline.
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must possess a National Identity Card and be between 18 and 34 years old.
They must also be willing to undertake training at any of the listed institutions, be able to read and write in Kiswahili or English, and commit to attending all training sessions, including industrial attachment.
Applicants must fall within one of the programme categories: Skiller, Apprentice or Business Owner.
Empowering youth through skills
The 2Jiajiri programme seeks to address skills mismatch by providing technical scholarships and entrepreneurship training to improve employability and support micro-enterprise development.
Past beneficiaries in Nyamira County have gone on to establish small businesses and secure employment using skills acquired through the programme.
The KCB Foundation has cautioned applicants against engaging recruitment agents who demand payment in exchange for assistance with the application process.

The foundation stated that it will not be liable for any money or valuables lost through such transactions and urged applicants to follow the official application process.
