The Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI) Mt Kenya East region has issued a call for research papers ahead of its regional Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Fair, set to be held in Tharaka Nithi County from May 13 to 16, 2026.

The fair, themed “Transforming Tomorrow Today: TVET Powering Bottom-Up Transformation through Skilling, Innovation, Robotics and Research,” invites TVET institutions across the region to submit abstracts and full research papers before the event.

Chuka Technical and Vocational College (TVC) will host the fair, which brings together TVET institutions across the Mt Kenya East region to showcase research, innovation and technical skills.

Researchers and trainees wishing to participate must submit their abstracts by May 5, 2026. Full papers are due by May 8 while PowerPoint presentations must be submitted by May 12.

The contest is organised under four sub-themes: TVET Global Competitiveness; Innovation, Digitalization and Commercialization; Inclusive Transformation and Empowerment; and Green and Climate-Smart Futures.

All abstracts and full papers must be written in APA Style 6th Edition. Abstracts should be between 250 and 300 words, typed in Times New Roman 12-point font with single spacing, and accompanied by at least three to five keywords. Full papers must be between 3,000 and 3,500 words, typed in Times New Roman 12-point font with 1.5 line spacing and justified formatting, spanning at least 10 pages.

Papers must include the sub-theme under which they fall, the title, the names of authors and contact details. Each paper must contain sections covering the introduction, literature review, data and methodology, findings and analysis and a summary with synthesis, conclusions and recommendations.

Organisers have cautioned that judges will check submissions for plagiarism and urged participants to properly acknowledge all literature used to avoid disqualification.
