Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has cautioned the Treasury Cabinet Secretary, CS John Mbadi against reduction of Capitation funds for students in various schools across the Country
In the ODM party manifesto Governor Barasa said leaders were advocating for Free Primary and Secondary education for it’s provided in the budget
The County boss was speaking during Coffee cherry advance revolving fund sensitization forum at Makhokho High School, Ikolomani Constituency on Saturday.

He echoed sentiments of Members of Parliament (MPs) who were in attendance condemning the reduction of Capitation funds
“Mbadi cannot reduce capitation because the foundation of children is depending on that government programme.” He Emphasized
Governor stated that Mbadi must reinstate capitation for primary and secondary schools in addition to university education
