Kakamega County Governor Fernandes Barasa has commissioned the first ever Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centre at Ingairwe primary school Koyonzo ward in Matungu Constituency to boost the foundation of Education.

Speaking during the handing over ceremony the governor disclosed that 61 ECD centers in 12 Sub Counties are still under construction, at different levels and reaffirmed his commitment to inspect them.
The ECD centres will impact an increase in enrollment from 78, 000 in 2022 to the current 124,000 learners.
The newly commissioned ECD facility hosts two classrooms, administration block, modern kitchen and an ablution offering a conducive learning environment to children in the society.

During the event the County boss issued modern tables, desks and chairs to the new ECD facility and an ablution block, ensuring children begin their education journey in a safe and dignified environment.
The program is part of the county government’s education agenda to improve infrastructure, increase enrollment, and enhance the overall quality of education for all.
