The County Government of Kakamega hosted a dinner at the Golf Hotel on Saturday, August 2, 2025, evening in honour of officials and stakeholders involved in the successful staging of the 2025 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) National Term 2 Games.
The dinner brought together representatives from the National and County Ministries of Education and Sports, school administrators, coaches, and other key contributors to the week-long championship that concluded earlier in the day.
Presiding over the event on behalf of H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa was the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Social Services, Sports, Youth, Gender and Culture, Jackline Masicha.
In her remarks, Ms. Masicha commended all participating teams for their strong performance, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the competition, which was hosted at various venues across Kakamega.

“This championship has shown that Kakamega is not only a sporting giant but also a reliable host for national events,” she said. “On behalf of Governor Barasa, I sincerely thank all our guests and partners who made this event a success.”
Masicha also extended special congratulations to Butere Girls and St. Joseph’s Boys for winning the national football titles, noting their triumph as a proud moment for the county.
The dinner served as a closing highlight of the 2025 KSSSA Term 2 Games, reinforcing Kakamega’s reputation as a centre for youth talent and national sports development.
