National secondary school football champions St Joseph’s Boys High School, Kitale (JOBO), underlined their dominance after cruising to a commanding 6-0 victory over Kapretwa in the final of the Saboti Sub-County Secondary School Term Two Games held at Kapretwa Grounds.
The emphatic win saw JOBO once again showcase the quality that has made them one of the most feared school football teams in the country.
From the opening whistle, the Kitale-based giants controlled possession, dictated the tempo, and created numerous scoring opportunities, leaving their opponents struggling to cope with their attacking prowess.
The national champions displayed sharp passing, disciplined defending, and clinical finishing as they found the back of the net six times without reply.
The victory secured the Saboti Sub-County title and reaffirmed the team’s status as favourites heading into the next stage of the competition.
Head coach Amos Juma praised his players for their commitment, discipline, and teamwork, noting that the tournament provided an important platform to assess the squad ahead of tougher challenges.
The competition also served as a valuable opportunity for players to sharpen their skills after recently participating in the sub-zonal games, where the school enjoyed remarkable success.
St Joseph’s Boys emerged champions in football, volleyball, and 3×3 basketball, highlighting the institution’s growing reputation as a powerhouse in school sports.
Attention now shifts to the highly anticipated Trans Nzoia County Games scheduled for this weekend.
JOBO are expected to renew their long-standing rivalry with St Anthony’s Boys High School, who also booked their place in the county championships after qualifying from the Kiminini Sub-County Games.
