Homa Bay County completed KPSEA smoothly without any major problems. Speaking to Education News shortly after the completion of the exercise, area County Commissioner Ronald Mwiwawa congratulated all those who administered the examinations and wished the candidates good health as they begin the long holiday, awaiting the results that determine their placement in Grade 7.
“I thank all the stakeholders for this commendable job, as they braved morning and afternoon drizzles to conduct the exercise successfully. Now, I wish our children a good holiday and a happy New Year,” he said.

The Commissioner attributed the success to the upholding of dignity by centre Managers, Supervisors, and Invigilators, who conducted themselves with high decorum throughout the examination process.
The Commissioner revealed that Homa Bay County presented a total of 75,955 candidates in both KPSEA and KJSEA, noting that this was higher than last year.
He asked the candidates to conduct themselves well during the long December holiday by helping their parents run family errands without sacrificing their time for studies.
He lauded the Competency-Based Curriculum because it encourages competencies among learners and places them naturally where they suit best, rather than the defunct 8.4.4 system that emphasised mere memorisation of content.
