HELB offers partial scholarships to postgraduate scholars

The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has invited applications for the 2023-2024 Postgraduate partial scholarships.

Kenyan students enrolled for Master’s and Ph.D. programs in local public or private universities are eligible.

The Universities must be recognized by the Commission for Universities Education (CUE).

The value of the scholarship award is Ksh200, 000 and Ksh450, 000 for Master’s and Ph.D. programs respectively.

It is tenable for 2 years in respect of the Master’s Program and 3 years for the Ph.D.

Prospective beneficiaries ought to have a minimum undergraduate qualification of Second-Class Honors, Upper Division.

Further, preferences will be given to applicants undertaking Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, and Mathematics (STEAM) courses.

The applicant need to have a letter of Admission into a full or part-time program.

Interested persons are required to access, register and duly complete the 2023/2024 Postgraduate Scholarship Application Form (PGSAF).

The PGSAF should be appropriately signed and stamped by the relevant authorities and all the necessary documents attached as indicated in the checklist.

“The form is accessible from the Student Portal www.helb.co.ke upon registration and is required to be submitted online and have the PGSAF printed,” HELB said.

Application documents should be send the scanned PDF copy to pgscholarship@helb.co.ke.

A non-refundable application fee of Ksh3, 000 via MPESA is also required.

“HELB does not charge any fee to access the Postgraduate Scholarship Application apart from the requisite cybercafé charges,” read part of the statement.

Furthermore, persons with special needs and from Marginalized Counties are encouraged to apply.

The deadline set for the application is slated for August 31, 2023.
