The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has reminded students and other applicants that they can track the progress of their loan applications using their mobile phones without visiting its offices.
The Board said applicants can access their loan information through the HELB online portal, USSD service and mobile application, providing them with convenient ways to monitor the status of their applications.
Applicants using the online portal can log into their accounts and access their loan information to check the progress of their applications, while those who prefer using USSD services can dial *642# on their mobile phones and follow the prompts to access their loan status and other available HELB services.
Applicants can also download the HELB mobile application, which allows them to access loan-related information and monitor their applications directly from their phones.

The options are expected to make it easier for students to follow up on their applications without having to travel to HELB offices or wait for direct communication from the Board. The reminder comes as HELB continues processing applications for various education financing programmes targeting students and employed Kenyans pursuing further education.

Students are therefore encouraged to regularly check their application status through the available HELB channels to stay updated on the progress of their funding.
