A head teacher in Transmara, Narok County has captured national admiration after going beyond the call of duty to support a young mother sitting for her national examinations.

Rosemary Ngeno, the Head of Institution at Esoit Naibor School and Treasurer of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Transmara Branch, has been widely praised for caring for a one-month-old baby belonging to one of her Grade 9 candidates during the ongoing national assessments.

The candidate, who recently gave birth, had expressed her determination to continue with her education despite the challenges of early motherhood.

Moved by her resilience, Ngeno decided to help in a special way — by personally tending to the baby so the young mother could sit for her exams without distraction.

“I encouraged the girl to continue with learning after giving birth,” Ngeno said.

The heartwarming gesture, which was shared on social media, has inspired an outpouring of praise from teachers, parents, and education officials.

Many described Ngeno as a role model of compassion and commitment, embodying the true spirit of teaching.

The young mother, who dreams of becoming a pilot, has become a symbol of courage and perseverance for other girls facing similar challenges.

Ngeno’s actions remind the world that great teachers do not just educate minds — they nurture hearts, restore hope, and transform lives.
