The Kenya High School community is in mourning after Douglas Mogaka, a 32-year old teacher, took away his life.
His body was discovered hanging from a water tank ladder at the school, raising alarm among his colleagues.
Mogaka reportedly took his life using a belt.
While his motive remains unclear, authorities are continuing investigations, and his body has been moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
While speaking to the press, Mogaka’s students described him as a dedicated and self driven person.
The incident is part of a troubling rise in suicide cases among teachers with several others reported in different parts of the country, raising concerns over mental health among tutors.
