Grief as deputy Principal in Kisii dies while receiving medical treatment

The parents, teachers and students of Nyagichenche Secondary School in Kisii County were enveloped in a mournful cloud after learning about the death of the school’s deputy Principal.

According to family members, Madam Ednah Naliaka met her death Sunday morning at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) where she had been undergoing treatment.

In his condolences message seen By Education News, Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Kisii branch Executive Secretary Joseph Abincha informed his colleagues that this has been a bad season for teachers from the region.

This is after receiving the sad news about the demise of Naliaka barely a week after the death of Rianyabaro Secondary School Principal Shem Abere in a tragic road accident.

“I learned with a lot of grief and shock of the untimely passing on of Madam Ednah Naliaka, Deputy Principal Nyagichenche Secondary School,” read part of the message.

Abincha sent heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of KUPPET leadership and the entire teaching fraternity.

He said that the teaching community has lost a dedicated teacher and administrator and prayed God to comfort her family to remain resilient in this sorrowful moment.

The secretary asked the teaching fraternity to remain united by being a brother’s keeper at both times of plenty and scarcity.
