A Grade 3 boy is receiving treatment at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) after allegedly being subjected to horrific abuse by his stepmother.
The young boy, whose identity has been withheld, was reportedly punished for boiling and eating an egg without permission.

Geoffrey Omatoke Mosiria, the Chief Officer of Environment of Nairobi County, condemned the incident in a post on his Facebook page, saying, “This woman doesn’t deserve jail- if it was up to me, Vietnam’s drug trafficking laws should apply to her. Men, be careful who you marry after divorcing your wife; a second wife often brings nothing but disaster. Ogopa stepmother.
Another Facebook user commented, “Child protection is paramount. This case should have started faster the same way like if the man or stepfather would have taken the course. Now that the case involves a boy child and killer, murder or accussed is woman nobody would care.”
