Government establishes Kshs 25 million NG-CDF school in Nandi

The National government has established a new school in Emgwen constituency, Nandi County.

According to area residents, Kipkeibon Mixed Secondary School has come as a sigh of relief to students who have been trekking for about four kilometers to the nearest secondary school.

The facility is expected to accommodate learners from humble backgrounds across villages and also decongest the nearby overpopulated secondary schools.

The Sh25 million National Government –Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) project has eight classrooms and several offices and has already admitted the first batch of students.

“I heard the pleas of the parents and gave it an utmost priority, I am glad that the school is ready for occupancy by our students,” Alexander Kosgey Emgwen legislator said.

He said the new school is in line with the government’s plan to expand existing infrastructure and build new schools in a bid to decongest learning institutions in the county.

Kapsabet Zone Curriculum Support Officer Jane Misoi lauded the initiative saying it will contribute to the government’s 100 per cent transition policy to secondary education.
