Gesabakwa Secondary School in Ichuni Ward, Masaba South Sub-County, held a vibrant colour celebration to appreciate the 2025 KCSE candidates for their performance and discipline throughout the examination period.

The event brought together students, teachers, parents, alumni, and invited guests for a day of gratitude, cultural performances, and motivation for learners still in school.

Speaking during the occasion on Thursday, the Deputy Principal of Gesabakwa Secondary School, Mrs. Jane Mongina Okerosi, thanked the teaching staff for their commitment, parents for their unwavering support, and the candidates for their resilience and hard work.

She reported that the school had registered 92 candidates for the 2025 KCSE examinations, out of whom 78 attained the minimum university entry grade of C+ and above. Mrs. Okerosi noted that the results reflected teamwork, discipline, and commitment, urging current students to emulate the same spirit as they prepare for their examinations.

The Guest of Honour, Kisii County Director of Education Philip Chirchir, commended the school for maintaining steady academic progress and challenged the community to continue supporting education through infrastructure development and mentorship programmes.

He encouraged the 2025 candidates to use their results as a foundation for higher learning and to remain good ambassadors of the school wherever they go.

The Director of Education and other guests presided over the awarding of successful candidates with various presents including briefcases, mobile phones, and laptops.

Chirchir further encouraged students who did not qualify for university to join Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions and other middle-level colleges to continue pursuing their education, noting that success comes in different forms when one is guided by determination and resilience.

The ceremony was marked by lively traditional songs and dances, Christian choir performances, and entertainment concerts that captivated the audience.

Many in attendance wished the celebration could continue longer, but gathering rain clouds forced the function to end earlier than expected.

The Board of Management thanked God for the achievement and appealed to the government to continue supporting the school through infrastructure improvement to sustain strong academic performance.
