George Opiyo re-elected Nyanza KESSHA Chairperson

Nyanza KESSHA chairperson George Opiyo.

Dr Aloo Gumbi High School Principal in Kisumu County George Opiyo has been reelected as the Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) Nyanza region chairperson.

Opiyo, who has been holding the position, was reelected back into office during an Executive Council meeting at Agoro Sare High in Homa Bay County.

Others elected were Joyce Omondi as nominee for national elections.

Lucy Anam was elected a National Governing Council coopted member while Victor Makanda scooped the vice chair slot.

Dickens Bula was elected the secretary while Job Oira is the vice secretary. Joyce Orioki clinched the position of treasurer while Peter Odhiambo Magawe became the vice treasurer.

Opiyo thanked the members for having faith in him again.

He promised to serve them diligently and urged the government to urgently avail the much needed capitation funds saying many learning institutions are in dire financial need hence the need to dispatch the funds.

He lamented that many parents cannot afford to pay fees due to hard economic times and delayed reopening of schools forced the parent to spent the cash on other needs.
