Four teams from educational institutions in the South Rift region will battle it out on Saturday in the Super Friendlies Queens tournament, with the competition expected to provide a platform for emerging female football talent.
The tournament will be held at the Teachers Training Centre grounds in Kericho, with action scheduled to kick off at 10 am. TTC Kericho Ladies, Kericho Day Girls, View Shiners Queens and Sotik TTI Ladies will compete in a round-robin format, with each team playing three matches during the day.
The opening round will see TTC Kericho Ladies take on Kericho Day Girls, while View Shiners Queens will face Sotik TTI Ladies. The second round will pit TTC Kericho Ladies against View Shiners Queens, with Kericho Day Girls taking on Sotik TTI Ladies. In the final round, TTC Kericho Ladies will meet Sotik TTI Ladies, while Kericho Day Girls will play View Shiners Queens.

The tournament is expected to provide the participating students with valuable competitive exposure while promoting women’s football within learning institutions. Beyond competition, the event will offer players an opportunity to develop their skills, gain match experience and build confidence as they pursue opportunities in school and grassroots football.
The growing involvement of schools and technical training institutions in women’s football has also provided an important pathway for nurturing young players and encouraging more girls to take up the sport. With three rounds of matches lined up, organisers expect an action-packed day as the four sides seek to establish themselves as the leading team in the competition.
