According to witnesses, the confrontation began as an argument over toilet flushing and cleaning duties. The altercation escalated, leading to the suspect, Justus Otieno, fatally stabbing his roommate.
Confirming the incident, Omondi Ogola, a Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officer based in Kikuyu, urged the need for alternative dispute resolution measures in such cases.
“We received a report from one of the security officers that one student had stabbed another. We suspect the stabbing injury caused the death,” Ogola said.
The body of the victim was taken to PCEA Thogoto Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, the suspect is being detained at Kikuyu Police Station, awaiting investigations and arraignment.
