Day One of the East African Secondary School Games in Kakamega saw thrilling volleyball action.
Sulumeti Girls dominated Mwitoti with a clean 3-0 sweep (25:15, 25:20, 25:17), while Kwanthanze powered past Tanzania’s Kajunjume, also winning 3-0 (25:18, 30:28, 25:11) after a tense second set.
In football, Nasokol Girls Secondary settled for a goalless 0-0 draw against Tanzania’s Alliance Girls in a tightly contested opener. More games are lined up to be played as Kakamega hosts the winners from across the neighbouring countries.

Kakamega approved school hosted the clash between Nasokol Girls and Tanzania’s Alliance. Bukhungu Stadium, Mukumu High School, Kakamega High School, and Kakamega Rehabilitation Centre are among the fields where Football games will be held.
Masinde Muliro University will host volleyball, Handball and other games.
