Police in Mwingi, Kitui County are hunting for a man, who went into hiding after allegedly defiling his 15-year-old daughter.
The incident happened when the mother to the girl had gone to her maternal home in preparation for her young sister’s wedding.
“My father came home at around 10 pm that fateful day and I served him food. He then gave me a torch to study after he finished eating. I later returned the torch to him when I was done,” added the girl.
As the girl was handing over the torch to him he asked her to spend a night with him. She refused, went to her bed but at night the father followed her to bed and defiled her.
She later informed her mother through phone call. The 35 year old mother came, picked the defiled daughter and two of her children then left to her maternal home at Waita.
The man had already vanished but what’s hurting is that he has been calling begging for her to go home and leave behind the girl he defiled at her home.
Mwingi sub-county Police Commander Peter Mutuma said police are in pursuit of the man and once arrested, he will face the full force of the law.
“That’s incest and might attract life sentence. Kindly I am urging mothers to be very careful on whom they leave their children with,” Mutuma.
