Equity announces Wings to Fly secondary school scholarships

By Allan Kibet

The Board of Directors of Equity Bank Foundation has announced scholarships for needy students who hope to join secondary schools in 2022 under its Wings to Fly scholarship platform.

The scholarship will be rolled out in all the 47 counties to successful 2021 KCPE candidates from needy families.

The programme has so far provided over 19,000 scholarships to bright but needy students across the country, beating their 2011 target of sponsoring 10,000 students in ten years.

The Equity Foundation has requested all the academically promising, prospective 2021 KCPE candidates coming from financially challenged families and are committed to complete their secondary education to collect the scholarship application forms from their nearest Equity Bank branch or agent in order to apply for the scholarships.

Eligible candidates can alternatively fill the application forms online through: https://egfdmis.equitybank.co.ke/register_w2f to create accounts.

Some of the requirements for eligible candidates are that; they must score at least 350 marks and above in KCPE and must at least lost one or both parents who could have supported their secondary education or are children whose parents are physically challenged.

Further, children who come from families where parents are living with HIV/AIDS or other chronic illnesses and are unable to educate their children, those from vulnerable and marginalized groups or indigenous communities with cultural vices like early marriages, FGM or religious radicalization, those who have been affected by natural calamities or disasters, those who have been neglected or abandoned will be considered.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews that will be conducted by the Equity Group Foundation Community Scholarship Selection Board (CSSB).
